Tapid

About Tapid

Made in Dublin, built for every city

Every city runs on its locals: the café that knows your order, the pub where the barman nods you in, the restaurant you take everyone who visits. Tapid is our way of making loyalty to those places actually pay off.

Why we built this

Loyalty cards don't work. They live in jacket pockets, go through the wash, and ask the busiest person in the room, the one behind the counter, to do the admin. Big chains solved this with apps and data teams. Local spots got left with a rubber stamp.

Tapid, founded in Dublin in 2025 and backed by NovaUCD, levels that field. By using regulated open banking instead of hardware, we let any independent business run a loyalty programme that works automatically, and give their customers rewards for doing what they were doing anyway.

Today Tapid tracks over €1.5m in local spend across 250+ businesses, with Dublin and London live and more European cities on the roadmap. Every city has locals. We intend to reward all of them.

Local first

Tapid exists for independent cafés, pubs and restaurants, the places that give a city its character. No chains, no airports, no exceptions.

Stay out of the way

The best loyalty programme is one you forget about until it pays off. We build for the background: no scanning, no stamps, no nagging.

Privacy by design

Bank linking is explicit, regulated and revocable. We use transaction data to count your visits, never to sell you out.

Our team

Tadgh O'Briain

Co-founder & CEO

Started Tapid in Dublin to give independents the loyalty intelligence chains have had for years. Leads product and engineering, from the app and merchant matching to open-banking integrations and everything in between. Believes the best loyalty tech disappears at the till and only shows up when a regular comes back.
