Loyalty cards don't work. They live in jacket pockets, go through the wash, and ask the busiest person in the room, the one behind the counter, to do the admin. Big chains solved this with apps and data teams. Local spots got left with a rubber stamp.
Tapid, founded in Dublin in 2025 and backed by NovaUCD, levels that field. By using regulated open banking instead of hardware, we let any independent business run a loyalty programme that works automatically, and give their customers rewards for doing what they were doing anyway.
Today Tapid tracks over €1.5m in local spend across 250+ businesses, with Dublin and London live and more European cities on the roadmap. Every city has locals. We intend to reward all of them.
